FAQ & Practical info

How long does a good Alhambra visit take?+

Plan around three hours minimum for the full route (Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces, Generalife). Half a day is more comfortable.

Do I really need to book tickets in advance?+

Yes. The Nasrid Palaces have limited timed slots. Always check the official Alhambra ticket website for current availability and rules.

What if tickets are sold out?+

You can still visit the free areas (some walking paths, gates and viewpoints). Consider a guided tour that includes ticket, or come back another day.

Is the Alhambra good with kids?+

Yes, with breaks. The Generalife gardens and the Alcazaba towers usually work well. The Nasrid Palaces are quieter — invite them to spot patterns and fountains.

Night visit — is it worth it?+

If you like atmosphere over information, yes. The night visit covers a smaller area of the Nasrid Palaces or Generalife, but the light is unforgettable.
